Ama Milan Kendra (AMK) is a national level non-government organization working for the rights and dignity of women. It was established on International Women’s in the Year 1975. The organization was established on the belief that women are the best motivator for the women. This is a volunteer based organization executed by the board consisting of 15members, which is extended to 59 local branches in 19 districts.
AMK is working as a complementary and supplementary to the government, mainstreaming gender in development process. It undertakes community driven activities to strengthen confident, competence, and capability and to improve the lives of women and youth who are facing the brunt of socioeconomic and health problems. AMK has a long history of successfully working with its partners to design and implement participatory, community-based initiatives aimed at promoting social, economic, and health status of women at the grass root level. It has empowered women to enhance their own lives and the lives of their families and communities, including the next generation.
